Lustrous, jet-black, pyramidal hausmannite richly fill the vug on the sculptural matrix of this showy and excellent, older specimen from the Black Rock Mine of South Africa. This mine has been closed for a number of years and the piece was purchased in 1998, according to the accompanying label. Classic material. Ex. J.P. Gliddon and Tarnowski Collections.
