Okorusu Fluorites are renowned for their purple/green zoning, but it unusual to find truly gemmy crystals from this mine. Normal crystal habits for Okorusu are cubes, but these richly colored crystals, which range up to about 2.5 cm in size, are very gemmy, highly modified octahedrons. The corner terminations are flat, modified by the cube, and highly lustrous. Glass windows, really. The octahedral faces are stepped. A very interesting and attractive habit. The crystals are a uniform and beautiful forest green, gem-clear and zoned with sharp, purple phantoms. A wonderful Okorusu from the older finds of the 1970s-1980s. Very aesthetic, and fluorescent.
