This is a large and incredibly rich specimen of a very rare mineral. You just do not see this much linarite in one place very often! This is a seam in which the linarite has formed flattened crystals (the usual form) in a dense mat. Collectors at the Blanchard and other New Mexico localities are happy to find even small specimens with a fraction of the linarite you see here. Ex. Roman Gaufman collection.
