Fine, old German combination piece from the Erzebirge. The super-sharp, 4 cm Quartz crystal looks like brownish-red marble because of inclusions (very attractive), and the lustrous 2 cm Cassiterite looks like a complex bi-pyramid (possibly from cyclic twinning). All are on a bed of Muscovite blades. An engaging, and classic, combination piece from this famous district that is much more interesting than the usual old cassiterite loose crystal I have seen in the past.
