Excellent vintage specimen from the Grosse Burg mine in Siegerland, Germany. The Chalcopyrite consists of a nice cluster of 3mm crystals nestled in the Quartz, along with some massive Chalcopyrite below. The Digenite crystal is twinned, and is a significant 2.3 cm across. The patina on both sulfides is outstanding. This is an old-time combination piece, and even better in person, where you can really see the luster pop. Formerly in the collection of Kurt Scholer (1906).
