Sharp Tetrahedrite crystals coated with bright, golden, iridescent Chalcopyrite are venerable classics from the famous Herodsfoot Mine. The Chalcopyrites range up to 1.3 cm, and many of them are sharp. These outstanding combination crystals are associated with lustrous, metallic-gray, modified Galena cuboctahedrons for a highly unusual contrast, and massive Quartz as well as quartz replacing thick barite blades. This is a showy and aesthetic combination piece with a really beautiful horizon line of crystals atop, and it is visually sparkling and modern looking for an old classics. Some minor damage is also present, to note. Specimens of this quality date from the 1850s to 1880s. Better even in person! There is a recent and extensive Mineralogical Record article on this renowned locality.
