Grossular (Var: Hessonite), Clinochlore, Albite, Diopside
This locality lies right on the Swiss/Italian border, just southeast of Zermatt. This specimen is one of the better examples of this material that I have seen from this locality. It features dozens of small, gem quality, deep orange-red color dodecahedral Hessonite crystals with trapezohedral modifications which are associated with bluish-green crystal aggregates of Clinochlore, small white crystals of Albite and one golden-green prismatic Diopside crystal. Ex. Richard Kosnar Collection.
