A very rich and obviously very old specimen of Franklinite, from the turn of the 20th century in all likelihood. It was in the Carl Bosch collection which was donated to the Smithsonian, and after "leaking out" ended up in the Barlow Collection dispersed in 1998. It is a fine piece for the price, but the labels add considerable value, intellectually, in my opinion.
