A huge scapolite crystal from a very uncommon locale - the pegmatites of the Manang District, Nepal. This sharply crystallized, doubly-terminated, mottled brown to gray crystal is lustrous and translucent. One termination is a pyramid and the other is a pinacoid. This remains one of the largest, sharply crystallized scapolite crystals that I have seen from any worldwide locality. Super representative for the species and very rare for the locale. I acquired this through academic contacts and the locale is, I am sure, quite legitimate. Weighs 396 grams.
