A striking and beautiful cabinet specimen of highly lustrous, rust-red, banded, botryoidal hematite "kindey ore" from this difficult to obtain locale - the Cary Mine of Wisconsin. The top of the piece is very nicely complimented by a vein of starkly contrasting, lustrous, white calcite rhombs. This is classic, old-time and rare combination material, comparable to kindey ore from the iron mines of Cumbria, England.
