This is a CLASSIC Queen piece from the 1960s or 1970s, with a beautiful and intense purple layer atop the flat termination. It glows when backlit, but is somewhat dark in normal lighting. This fat crystal is complete all around save only for a small asyemmetrical growth on one edge, and a few trivial dings. It masses 113 grams. These are few and far between, today. From the collection of Hubert De Monmonier (1919-2007), donated by bequest to the University of Arizona Museum to add to their displays and to provide specimens for sale to establish an endowment fund for museum operations, in perpetuity.
