An extremely rich ore specimen of highly lustrous ruby-red cinnabar crystals from the Almaden, Spain. Almaden is one of the worlds oldest mercury producing areas and this is an old specimen, though there is no label to prove it. I got it out of an East Coast museum deaccession.
