Translucent to gemmy, this rich brownish-orange Bastnasite-(Ce) crystal is from Zagi Mountain, Pakistan. The hexagonal form is highly modified, and the luster is superb. There is some contacting on the lower portion and bottom, but it has little effect on the overall appearance of this rare cerium, lanthanum carbonate-fluoride thumbnail. Better in person.
