A stunning crystal from ANY locality. Though small, it shines with a brilliant luster and sharp form that makes it look bigger. These are found related to gold mining operations at several localities in Trinity County. It is one of the sharpest known genuine California diamonds, and comes from the collection of noted gemologist and gem collector John Koivula, formerly of the GIA. The piece is illustrated as the examplar of octahedral diamonds from the locality in a reseach publication in the journal Gems and Gemology, Fall 1990 issue, pp. 212-219. A significant little treasure and a capstone in particular for a California suite! (thanks to John Veevaert for the exact locality information) 0.24 carats: 3 x 3 x 3 mm
