A 2.2 cm, splendent, interpenetrating, drill-bit-twinned cinnabar crystal rests atop a mounded cabinet quartz crystal matrix richly sprinkled with cream-colored dolomite rhombs on this outstanding specimen from Tongren, China, the premier locality for fine cinnabar crystals. This complete-all-around crystal has a beautiful, "ruby-silver" look to it, just like proustite or pyrargyrite crystals. Nearly pristine. This piece is a stellar example of the combination species and locale.
