Nothing in the tourmaline kingdom comes remotely close to these absolutely bizarre specimens from Mexico. At this locality, slender schorl crystals grew in brushy bunches, radiating outwards from a central point of growth. At their best, they make quite striking specimens, such as this one - with rich sprays of the crystals, in pristine condition, on a field of small milky quartz crystals that cover matrix. The schorl crystals rise to about 2.5 cm above the matrix. They were found in the early 1990s. Ex. Dave Stoudt Collection.
