Helvite is rarely found from Tongbei, China, which has become very famous for its spessartine. This excellent helvite specimen has one well-placed, dominant crystal measuring 1.5 cm, top to bottom. The helvite is complete and has textbook, octahedral form. The richly scattered, very gemmy, golden-yellow spessartine garnets on the contrasting orthoclase crystal matrix make for a nice accent, as well.
