When you hear San Benito County, you think of two things: benitoite and neptunite. But once in awhile, the locality produced these fine garnets - with a super-shiny, almost metallic looking luster and razor sharpness. These measure to 0.8 cm, and are attractively isolated on the matrix. Ex. Elling Collection - an uncommon locality piece!
