OUTSTANDING cluster of tightly intergrown Acanthite crystals from Fresnillo, one of the largest silver districts in history that has famously produced exceptionally lustrous silver sulfides. Well formed, squarish, and elongated, both crystals in this cluster are seemingly hoppered on all sides, which creates an astonishing look of the two being intertwined. The typically good luster ranges from smooth to textured, and the cluster, even modified as its crystals, is complete all around. Of exceptional quality and aesthetics for this renowned silver district, this large thumbnail displays the revered traits that makes the Zacatecas specimens stand out. On the geologic side, Fresnillo is a gigantic Carbonate Replacement Deposit, probably best known by collectors for these hoppered and skeletal-style Acanthite specimens.
