Fibrous green crystallized malachite in a cluster with very little attached matrix. Crystallized completely all around and in good condition. The specimen comes with an antique label as shown at the end of the video.The Kasompi Mine, located near Mutshatsha in the Lualaba Province of the Democratic Republic of Congo, is an artisanal and small-scale mining site situated within the heart of the prolific Central African Copperbelt. Geologically, the deposit sits within complex Neoproterozoic sedimentary sequences of the Katanga Supergroup, where extensive weathering and supergene oxidation processes have heavily altered the primary copper-cobalt sulfide ores. Mineralogically, the locality is celebrated by collectors for producing exquisite secondary copper specimens, most notably chatoyant, fibrous, and uniquely crystallized malachite, frequently accompanied by other rare or striking oxidation minerals. Historically, the mine has operated primarily through small-scale and artisanal extraction methods, yielding prized mineral specimens that circulate widely in the global collector market.
