Attractive grouping of stalactitic amethystine quartz crystals coming off matrix. In terrific condition all around. Aesthetic and attractive.The Chala Mine, situated within the Spahievo ore field of the Mineralni Bani Municipality in southern Bulgaria, is a notable epithermal mineral deposit. Geologically, the area is hosted within a complex volcanic and volcano-sedimentary structure of late Eocene to Oligocene age, where low-temperature hydrothermal and metasomatic fluids altered the surrounding rock sequences. Mineralogically, the deposit is celebrated for a rich variety of metallic ores, quartz variants including amethyst, and a diverse assemblage of secondary phosphate and sulfate species such as planerite, aheylite, and faustite. Historically, while the broader region features ancient roots tied to prehistoric use and thermal springs, modern exploration and mining activity developed around epithermal gold, base metal, and specimen-bearing veins investigated thoroughly by researchers and mineral collectors in recent decades.
