Crystals of quartz measuring to almost 2.0 cm in size, these a dark green in color due to the presence of chlorite. Colorless platy rhombohedral crystals of calcite are scattered throughout. This is in great condition.Komin dere, situated near Laki within the Plovdiv Province of Bulgaria in the central Rhodope Mountains, is part of the broader Yugovo ore field. Geologically, the localized hydrothermal mineralizations are hosted within metamorphic basement rocks of the region and are genetically related to small Early Alpine granitoid intrusive bodies. Mineralogically, the deposits are characterized by quartz-sulfide veins featuring base metal assemblages, notably quartz, galena, and sphalerite. Historically, mining and prospecting in this mountainous area developed alongside the broader exploration of polymetallic ore occurrences throughout the Laki district, contributing to the region's long-standing tradition of non-ferrous metal mining.
