Crystals of chabazite to 0.5 cm in size on a feldspar and quartz matrix. Neat locality example for the species, this is in very good condition. The Kairiaka Quarry, situated near Chernomoretz in the Sozopol municipality of the Burgas region in Bulgaria, is a well-known former granite and construction stone quarry that has gained international recognition among mineral collectors for its exceptional micro-assemblages. Geologically, the area is characterized by intrusive magmatic rock formations influenced by regional tectonic processes within the Balkan-Black Sea zone. Mineralogically, the cavities and fracture zones within the granitic and associated rocks served as host environments for hydrothermal activity, producing fine specimens of secondary minerals like epidote, orthoclase, quartz, and various zeolites. Among these, chabazite formed as a classic zeolite group mineral, typically crystallizing as distinct rhombohedral crystals inside rock vugs and cavities as a result of low-temperature hydrothermal alteration.
