Frosty green translucent crystals of fluorite across the top of matrix. In great condition.The 2nd Soviet Mine, located within the Partizanskoe deposit in Dalnegorsk, Primorsky Krai, Russia, is a notable underground operation set within a rugged mountainous terrain. Geologically, the site is defined by complex skarn formations created through the thermal and chemical interaction of intrusive magmatic bodies with surrounding carbonate rocks. This environment developed in distinct stages, beginning with an early base-metal skarn phase yielding massive sulfide assemblages, followed by a later stage introducing diverse metallic and accessory phases. Mineralogically, the mine is world-famous among collectors for producing high-quality specimens of galena, sphalerite, quartz, and calcite, alongside unusual silicates like apophyllite and manganese-rich axinite. Historically, large-scale mining in the wider Dalnegorsk district originated in the late 19th century under private industrial initiatives and later expanded significantly during the Soviet era to secure vital industrial metals.
