Attractive cluster of sharp green lustrous cubic crystals of fluorite, the largest measuring to 1.8 cm on edge. This is in good condition as seen. The Huangshaping Mine, situated in Hunan Province, China, is a world-class polymetallic deposit located within the prolific Nanling metallogenic belt. Geologically, the deposit is defined by complex skarn systems formed at the contact zones between late Mesozoic Jurassic granitic intrusions—such as quartz porphyry and granite porphyry—and Paleozoic carbonate wall rocks. Its mineralogy is exceptionally diverse, hosting major economic reserves of tungsten, molybdenum, lead, zinc, copper, and iron, manifested as skarn-type ore bodies and outward sulfide veins. Historically, the area has undergone extensive modern commercial mining and academic study because it uniquely combines multiple stages of intrusive activity and mineralization events within a single deposit.
