Lustrous crystals of stilbite set on a crystallized quartz matrix with colorless pseudo-cubic crystals of fluorapophyllite. In excellent condition.Pune, located in Maharashtra, India, has a rich history spanning over a millennium, evolving from a medieval settlement under the Rashtrakutas and Yadavas into the core territory of the Maratha Empire in the 17th century under Shivaji Maharaj, later serving as the Peshwa capital. Geologically, Pune sits within the vast Deccan Traps, a massive province of Cretaceous-Tertiary flood basalts formed by extensive volcanic activity. The region is globally famous among mineralogists for its quarries within these basalt flows, which host magnificent secondary minerals like stilbite. Stilbite is a hydrated sodium-calcium aluminosilicate belonging to the zeolite group, commonly precipitating in vesicular cavities as striking, sheaf-like or bow-tie crystal clusters with a delicate pink or peach color and a pearly luster.
