Rhombohedral crystals of translucent colorless calcite to 1.2 cm in size across the top of a crystallized quartz matrix with siderite. In good condition.The Trepca complex in Kosovo, with mining activities dating back to Roman and medieval times and modern industrial operations established in the 1920s, grew to become one of the largest and most productive lead, zinc, and silver mining operations in Europe. Geologically, the deposit is situated within the Kopaonik block of the western Vardar zone and is hosted primarily within recrystallized Upper Triassic limestones. The mineralization is characterized by complex skarn and hydrothermal replacement ore bodies formed by Tertiary magmatic activity, yielding a rich variety of metallic sulphides and world-renowned mineral specimens.
