The Confianza Mine in Chile is known for its attractive and unusual Quartz crystals included by Molybdenite crystals; but they only came out a single time and all through the hands of terry Szenics (Szenicsite), from whom we obtained this out of his long-held personal collection. This LARGE, single, glassy, transparent Quartz crystal contains a rich population of glistening, 1-2 mm-sized, silvery-gray Molybdenite crystals. The photos don't quite catch it, but at just the right orientation, you can see the molybdenite crystals abundantly and attractively scattered on the surface of a barely discernible phantom Quartz crystal. This growth pattern creates two distinct phantoms, making this a unique and enticing piece. Also of interest is that there is an unknown associated with some of the Molybdenites that demonstrates a golden fluorescence under SW. It's important to note that several of the faces have been polished to reveal the interior delights, so it is polished but retains natural shape. This very impressive piece was collected in 2004.
