Beautiful set of two loose gem colorless quartz crystals, these with neat blue inclusions of dumortierite. both are in good condition. Size is provided for the larger of the two crystals. The Vaca Morta quarry, located in the Serra da Vereda near Boquira within the Bahia state of Brazil, is a notable mineral locality recognized by collectors for specialized gemological specimens. Geologically, the area is part of the regional metamorphic and quartz-vein formations of the Serra do Espinhaco range, where silica-rich hydrothermal solutions interacted with local host rocks. The site has gained fame for producing distinct rock crystal quartz containing inclusions of dumortierite. These inclusions typically form vibrant blue to violet-blue acicular needles, radiating sprays, and phantom clusters suspended inside clear quartz host crystals, creating highly prized and visually striking display pieces.
