Light green translucent octahedral crystals of fluorite measuring to 1.5 cm in size on a matrix of sparkling crystallized colorless quartz. In great condition. Neat locality example for the species. The El Gaucho Mine, located near the Talampaya region in La Rioja Province, Argentina, is a small-scale mining site known primarily among mineral collectors. Geologically, the area is situated within a region influenced by complex regional tectonics and hydrothermal activity near sedimentary and volcanic formations. Mineralization processes in the surrounding district introduced fluorine-rich solutions that circulated through fractures and cavities, resulting in the formation of crystal pockets. The site has gained recognition for producing distinctive specimens of pale to light green fluorite crystals.
