Light blue blocky mostly lustrous crystals of Celestine on matrix. This is in good condition. Nice for this classic New York locality.Chittenango Falls, located in Madison County, New York, is a scenic geological site featuring a prominent waterfall over Paleozoic rock formations and a rich history of mineral collecting. Geologically, the area exposes upper Silurian strata, including the Chrysler Formation, consisting of thin to medium bedded dolostones. Vugs, cavities, and mudcracks within these sedimentary layers host secondary mineral growth formed by circulating sulfur and strontium rich solutions. The locality is well known among mineral enthusiasts for producing fine specimens of pale blue to colorless tabular celestine crystals, frequently found lining cavities alongside associated carbonate minerals like calcite.
