Slightly iridescent crystallized pyrite across both sides of matrix. In good condition. The Pcheloyad Mine, situated in the Zvezdel-Pcheloyad ore field within the Kardzhali Province of southern Bulgaria, is part of a historically significant metallogenic region in the Eastern Rhodopes. Geologically, the deposit is hosted within complex Paleogene volcanic structures, specifically linked to the local basalt-andesite and dacite-rhyolite magmatic complexes. Mineralization formed through hydrothermal activity at medium to low temperatures, creating ore veins and metasomatic bodies rich in base metal sulfides. The underground workings and related vein systems are known among mineral collectors for producing specimens of lead and zinc mineralization, including sphalerite, galena, and associated secondary minerals such as pyromorphite.
