A matching geode pair of azurite. Classic for this locality. Very attractive.The Blue Ball Mine, located in Gila County, Arizona within the broader Globe-Miami mining region, is a small historic prospect rather than a major industrial metal producer. Geologically, the site is recognized for its unique secondary weathering and alteration features, particularly clay-rich kaolinite zones and localized hydrothermal activity interacting with regional host rocks. While it lacks a large-scale commercial production history, the mine has achieved legendary status among mineral collectors. It is internationally famous for producing remarkable, rounded azurite nodules enclosing quartz pebble inclusions, which can be split open to reveal concentric rings of deep blue crystals.
