From the 271-5 stope of the Gordonsville Mine, this specimen is built around a large, richly saturated violet fluorite cube with broad, lustrous faces and strong internal depth. The top and upper edges are covered in pronounced stair-step growth, while finer cubic textures continue down the sides, giving the crystal a layered, architectural look without losing its overall sharp form. The fluorite rises cleanly from a sculptural pale matrix made up of small blocky crystals and finer sparkling growth, with a few smaller purple cubes tucked along the lower edges. The way the matrix wraps around the main crystal gives the piece excellent balance and makes the large cube feel naturally elevated rather than simply sitting on top. Strong color, complex surface detail, and an unusually elegant composition make this a standout example from the 271-5 stope.
