This is an unusually robust cluster of classic MSH rhodochrosite from the late 1980s. These unique, sharp crystals came from a famous small pocket collected by Ernie Schlichter and friends, and feature machine-sharp rhombohedral crystals that simply aare not found in other pockets here; and are also distinct from any others at other locations. This complete cluster features crystals with dark wine red color, luster, and this classic shape, to 2.5 cm in size. Note that, at least the larger crystal, is sharply twinned as well.
