A representative location piece from a rare locality for rhodochrosite, this is a 7mm botryoidal rhodochrosite on matrix with associated fluorapatite and phosphate minerals. Foote Mine is enormously important for its world class and diverse species suite of phosphates, and as such has a special place for those who collect rarities or USA minerals. Rhodo remains a rarity here. Collected in the mine heyday, certainly between 1950-80.
