When they were first recovered in the late 70’s, the rhodochrosites of the Kalahari Manganese Fields and N’Chwaning Mines became legendary in the mineral community for their intense color, gemminess, and form. Today, these specimens are extremely desirable, and seem to be rising in price every day. This is a nice small cabinet example featuring numerous crystals of brown-red rhodochrosite. Some cleaves, as commonly seen with this material, but overall very nice! Includes custom base.
