A Colorado classic! The Sunnyside Mine was once Colorado’s largest operating gold mine. Besides gold and other metals, the mine also produced a variety of mineral species. Most famously, some of Colorado’s best rhodochrosites (before Sweet Home production by CE began in the ‘90s). This piece is a great example, and is generously covered with dozens of well formed crystals. Featuring the classic pink color commonly seen from this mine, this piece is unmistakable. Some damage to the larger crystals as seen, but in overall nice condition.
