When discussing “holy grail” minerals, liroconite is one that will almost certainly come up. Collected in the mid 1800s, and never again, in St Day (the type locality) these classic UK specimens are still the gold standard for the species, which has been found (in much lesser quality) at only a handful of other locations worldwide. This specimen features a solid coverage of liroconite crystals with the larger crystals nicely terminated.
