Very nice gemmy, cherry-red, rhombohedral rhodochrosite crystals on a dark tetrahedrite matrix from the world famous Sweet Home Mine, Alma District, Park Co., Colorado, USA. This is a wonderful textbook Sweet Home specimen, featuring dozens of crystals on contrasting matrix with minor quartz. While this specimen is remarkably aesthetic, it does have some issues – notably a partially cleaved crystal in the center and at the top. These issues have impacted the price of this specimen heavily, as a perfect specimen with these looks, quality, and size would be *significantly* more expensive.
