OUTSTANDING and rare, this is one of the few Native Silver specimens I have seen from the well-known Morenci Mine, and on top of that it's a killer in its own way. The Silver is in a thick leaf form, sitting on a bit of matrix and associated with a small amount of Chrysocolla. The largest leaf is 2.5 cm across, and the color and patina are a rich silver. There are several leaves along the top, and also along the bottom of the matrix. On its own merits this is a quality Silver, but being from Morenci elevates it even more. In fact, there aren't even any photos of Morenci Silvers in MINDAT, which gives a good idea of just how uncommon they are. This is a very fine, aesthetic miniature, and better in person. This is from the extensive Arizona suite of the Dan McHugh collection, which we recently acquired. Note this was verified by sight by Arizona specialist, Les Presmyk.
