A super-sharp crystal showing fine bevelled edges from earlier finds of this wiluite mineral species at its classic and worlds-best locality, in Russia. For some years, they were thought to be vesuvianites, by the way...but that is resolved. Such textbook crystals in this shape are rare in good quality and this has a unique geometry that makes it impactful in a TN collection rare species suite. From: Phil Scalisi (Bridgewater, Massachusetts), June 2015, with his Rayham, Massachusetts label, and Albert H. Petereit (New York, New York) label showing that it sold for “$8.00.” Recently featured in the book, Refined Elegance (Mineralogical Record, Nov. 2022) on page 126. Laszlo Kupi photo.
