A rare, titanium-bearing member of the Vesuvianite group, Wiluite is only found in a few worldwide localities, with the most desirable specimens found at the type locality in Russia. This is from a very early find here, perhaps among the earliest. This small cabinet specimen has eight crystals in matrix. Four are excellent-quality, sharp, euhedral, and prismatic tetragonal crystals. These are doubly-terminated, lustrous, and they have a dark, blackish-green color. The largest Wiluite is 2 cm and it sits aesthetically on serpentine matrix. A very rich specimen, for the species. Note the old label is dated to February, of 1851.
