The geometry of this specimen is incredibly distinct, defined by an overlapping geometric stack of sharp, blocky white multi-generational quartz interlocked with calcite rhombs. The quartz framework is built like a series of clean, geometric side-steps, giving the entire piece a multidimensional, architectural profile.Peering into the quartz faces reveals a mineral oddity: highly selective corrosive solutions etched and hollowed out the interior quartz caps into delicate, skeletal "star" formations following the epitaxial growth plane. Because the straw-yellow calcite rhombs crystallized during a subsequent, entirely separate generation, they completely escaped this onslaught that gives the quartz patterns. As a result, their unblemished, razor-sharp edges and high-gloss, vitreous luster offer a gorgeous visual counterpoint to the rugged, heavily etched matte quartz framing them. The drama continues when the room goes dark, as the dual-generation calcites respond beautifully to UV light, flaring an intense electric red under shortwave and a deep honey-yellow under longwave.It is a visually striking, beautifully balanced addition that offers a clean, geometric twist for any serious quartz suite or fluorescence collector. From a one-time find in April of 2026, very few specimens were associated with calcite and these are even in China at a high premium compared to loose crystals and clusters.
