Tucson, Arizona, USAYou could almost convince me that this fine, small cabinet-sized Moroccan purple Fluorite specimen is from northern Spain given its association with cockscomb Baryte crystal clusters. However, it is claimed to be from the Djebel Oust deposit, Zaghouan, Tunisia and is from the collection of world Fluorite expert Arvid Pasto. The rich purple-coloured aggregated glassy Fluorite cubes which form the core of this display specimen show distinctive chamfeuring on their edges and contrast with the large, bladed, cream coloured Baryte crystals which are themselves aggregated as parallel clusters known as cockscomb habit. The Fluorite crystals are transparent to translucent and reveal some interesting internal colour zoning. A very fine Tunisian Fluorite.
