This is an old specimen of Brazilian tourmaline showing off an aesthetic combination of robust tourmaline crystals with juicy red cores and a green cap, perched on an interesting quartz point! It comes from the old multigenerational collection of Bruno and Rolando Gioia, which we purchased some time ago. The tourmaline is just under 6 cm tall and 3.5 cm wide across the top. Although broken/contacted in back, it does display well from the front as shown; and has a somewhat different look than most matrix tourmaline, which is why they kept it. The lavender lepidolite blades at the base are a perfect accent. No repairs or restoration.
