A unique peridot specimen among thousands we have seen since these started coming out in the 1990s: this piece, unlike all others, shows a faden arrangement within. A "faden" (from German, originally) is a particular kind of crystal style where the various components look like they are organized to either side of a central string; and usually with size differentials up and down, as you see here. The appearance is immediate and distinct, and often seen in quartz, to a lesser extent in apatite. This is the first faden example in a Peridot specimen, we can recall. It came out alone, in a small find in 2024. The piece is complete all around, a floater with no points of contact. It has no damage nor repairs. For that matter, it could be displayed either up or down, to equal effect. Simply unique, as well as beautiful. This is a full large miniature. Note we show photos under several different conditions for backlighting to highlight its translucency when lit.
