This important and large display-sized specimen of pale-colored creedite dates to earlier finds, perhaps the early to mid 1970s; and was long in the personal Mexican collection of Evan Jones. This discovery predates the famous 1984-ish finds in Santa Eulalia, Chihuahua and the later early 2000s bonanza discovery of large orange creedite at this same Durango location - these being the two largest and most widely known finds of the species, today. However, in the 1970s and 1980s, this older material was considered the world class example and, even though it does not have lavender or orange coloration, this has large discrete crystals the likes of which we did not see at the other finds. Evan purchased this when his Mexican collection (now long sold) was at its peak in the late 1990s, from dealer Dave Bunk out of another old collection dispersal. The large central crystal is 2 cm tall, 1.9 cm wide (!!!), and 1.1 cm thick, with a textbook "blocky" monoclinic symmetry that we simply do not often see in other finds. This crystal size in the species is very significant and unusual, as the species usually presents in more slender, elongated crystals without such a proper prismatic termination.
