Named in the 1850s on the basis of crystals found at Djebel Haminate mine in Algeria, Senarmontite has been found at many other localities worldwide, but that original occurrence remains the one to beat, with exceptionally rich crystallized aggregates composed of prominent octahedral crystals. This absolutely classic, small cabinet-sized crystallized specimen of this rare antimony oxide comes from the Type Locality indicating that it is of significant age. The well-formed sharp crystals of Senarmontite display the characteristic octahedral habit, measuring to 1.1 cm, in a solid aggregate. The crystals of Senarmontite show the typical greyish translucent colour and although there is some minor age-related wear this is a particularly grand specimen from the location.
