Definitely one of the rarer localities for Fluorite in New Mexico, the Highland Mary mine just outside Albuquerque is not often seen represented in collections but its crystals are really fascinating. Ex Arvid Pasto Collection, this small cabinet specimen is covered on one side with complex stepped 'octahedral' crystals reminiscent of Aztec temples. These are glassy internally and a sea-green colour, grading to orange-brown around one edge of the specimen. The back and sides of the specimen are rough where it has been trimmed but the front face is very nice. You don't often see good Fluorite from this locality, and this one is as good as I have seen for the detail of the crystals.
